Girl Skateboards

Girl Skateboards was created by Mike Carroll and Rick Howard back in 1993. It was an offshoot of some bad blood over at World Industries. Girl has always had a different style from the rest of skateboarding. I’m not sure how to describe it, it’s kind of like a more refined artsy style. Their skaters are usually more technically inclined and their boards tend have little concavity and small tails.

Girl has a close relationship with Val Surf a skate shop in the San Fernando Valley. A lot of people who have ridden for that shop have ended up on Girl.

Girl skate videos are usually big events. They don’t release videos all that often, but every time they do it’s a pretty big deal. When Yeah Right came out in 2003, we could never have enough copies around.
